Visit WAC at the Monterey County Fair

WAC's exhibit at the Monterey County Fair features tips on water-wise landscaping and distribution of soil moisture meters and lawn watering guidelines.

WAC is a cosponsor of Water Awareness Day on August 17 and is hosting the second annual Water-wise Landscape Design Competition. All the design entries were outstanding and represented the great landscape talent and water conservation interest of our communities’ children! This year's winners are:

• First Place – Jesse Blalock of Monterey – 12 Years old – “Summer Time Garden” display. $100 gift certificate to Drought Resistant Nursery, 850 Park Ave, Monterey

• Second Place – Natividad 4-H Club of Salinas – group entry – “Summer Time Garden” display. $50 gift certificate to McShane’s Nursery and Landscape Supply, 115 Monterey –Salinas Hwy, Salinas

• Third Place – Aaron Ray of Monterey – 10 years old – “Summer Time Garden” display. $25 Gift certificate to Rana Creek Nursery, 35351 East Carmel Valley Road, Carmel Valley
