WAC Participates at Aquarium’s Open House

On Community Open House Day, Sunday, December 13, 2009, the Monterey Bay Aquarium invited local non-profits to share their contributions and passions with their guests. The Aquarium opened its doors free of charge to all Monterey County residents. It is estimated that 8,000 people attended the event.

WAC volunteers staffed the booth from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and provided information on how to conserve water and use it more efficiently. The volunteers answered questions from the public on a variety of subjects, including water conserving fixtures and low water use landscape. Water conservation materials were handed out, including moisture meters, rain gauges, pencils, and landscape CD-ROMs.
